The Stratigraphic Modeling workflow

The Stratigraphic Modeling button group of the prepare > Stratigraphy strip guides you through the steps to create and edit a stratigraphic model. Multiple stratigraphic models can be created and used to model different scenarios. The first step in this workflow requires that you create a new stratigraphic model or specify an existing model for modification. You can generate zones by individually assigning data from a surface set, marker set or seismic interpretation, or by basing the model on a specific surface set, marker set or seismic interpretation. If you choose to manually generate the zones, the Stratigraphic View plays a vital part of the process, as it is the view you will interact with to build the model by hand. Additionally, you can use the Stratigraphic View to refine the hierarchy if you choose to use existing data as the basis of the model. The workflow is divided into these three essential steps:
